Rev. Doug and Sis. Caroline Chesson


Pastor Chesson began his ministry in the fall of 1963. He first served as a Youth Pastor in California, Texas, and Georgia. He became an Assistant Pastor and helped establish and build a new church while in Georgia, later ministering as Senior Pastor. He served on state and national youth boards for over ten years while in Georgia and on various other boards and committees, both elected and appointed, at the state and national level. In 1984 he moved his family to New Hampshire to establish a new church, where he was Senior Pastor. He also served as Senior Pastor in Fitchburg, MA for about 17 years. 

He has served as Senior Pastor of Abundant Life Church since 2009. He has actively participated on the MA/RI District Board of the UPCI for over 20 years, first as an elected District Presbyter, and now as an Honorary Board Member. He has served as both an elected and appointed member of other boards and committees in New England. He also teaches as an instructor in Purpose Institute, the training program for new ministers in the MA/RI District.

Pastor Chesson holds a degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw University, Marietta, Georgia, and numerous other certificates, from continuing education and other seminars. He married his wife Caroline in 1964. She holds a degree in Health Information Management with a Certificate in Medical Coding. They have four children: one son, who is a pastor in Tennessee, and three daughters, two of whom are married to ministers. They have eight grandchildren and 17 living great-grandchildren.
