Rev. Doug and Sis Caroline Chesson


Pastor Chesson began his ministry in the Fall of 1963.  He has served as a Youth Pastor in California, Texas and Georgia.  He served as an Assistant Pastor and helped establish and build a new church while in Georgia, later becoming Senior Pastor.  He served on state and national youth boards for over ten years while in Georgia and on various other boards and committees, both elected and appointed, at the state and national level.  In 1984 he moved his family to New Hampshire to establish a new church, where he served as Senior Pastor.  He has also served as Senior Pastor in Fitchburg, MA for approximately seventeen years.  He has served as Senior Pastor of Abundant Life Church since 2009.  He has served on the MA/RI District Board of the UPCI for over twenty years, first as an elected District Presbyter, and now as an Honorary Board Member.  He has served on other boards and committees in New England, both elected and appointed.  He also serves as an Instructor in Purpose Institute, the training program for new ministers in the MA/RI District.

Pastor Chesson holds a degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw University, Marietta, Georgia, and numerous other certificates, etc. from continuing education and other seminars.  He married his wife Caroline in 1964.  She holds a degree in Health Information Management with a Certificate in Medical Coding.  They have one son who is a Pastor, in Tennessee.  They have three daughters, two of whom are married to ministers.  They have eight grand-children and 17 living great grand-children.

Pastoral Assistant

Rev. Stephen Moody

Assistant Pastor Moody began his ministry in 1997 and was licensed by the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) in 2001 and ordained in 2018.  He served as a Youth Leader in Texas and Kansas, and in the culmination of his 24-year military career as a bi-vocational minister he preached the Gospel in Jordan, United Arab Emirates, and served as Assistant Pastor at Great Commission Ministries in the Kingdom of Bahrain.  In 2003, he became Assistant Pastor at Apostolic Lighthouse in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, later becoming Senior Pastor.  He served as Senior Bible Quiz Coordinator for several years and is currently the Section 1 Secretary/Treasurer for the Massachusetts Rhode Island District UPCI.  He holds both BS and MS degrees from Kansas State University and serves as an Instructor at the Boston Campus of Purpose Institute, a ministry training program.  He was elected as Assistant Pastor of Abundant Life Church in 2018.

Rev. Moody married his wife Lisa in 1979.  They have three married daughters and four grandchildren.
